Last weekend Mazda Southern Africa, in partnership with Mazda MX-5 Owners Club, unveiled the latest 2l MX-5 soft top to enthusiasts and selected dealers at the Irene Country Lodge in Johannesburg.
With only 39 units available in Mzansi and retailing for R389 800, the all-new Mazda MX-5 features the newly developed SKYACTIV technology.
The SKYACTIV technology is a revolution that takes Mazda cars to the next level by redefining everything, from the engine, transmission to the lightweight but rigid platform.
The car also features LED headlights, black leather seats, leather-wrapped steering wheel, cruise control, Bluetooth hands free system and Hill Launch Assist.
The MZD Connect Pack comes in a 7-inch touchscreen display, Internet radio integration and multi-function commander control.
According to Mazda, the 2litre engine delivers a combination of outstanding fuel efficiency and driving pleasure. Mzansi Life will reaffirm this when we get to test drive the roadster soon.
When closed, the manual roof top of the new Mazda MX-5 reinforces the striking shape of the vehicle, adding a more defined silhouette.
With the “Soul of Motion” language at the heart of every Mazda designs, Mazda used the new materials and technology to make the MX-5 lighter and stronger, with the aim of achieving a kerb weight reduction.
Since it parted ways with Ford, Mazda has sold over 10 000 units in South Africa and doubled its market share.
