Altovise Lawrence has scooped the Black Entertainment Television (BET)’s Top Actor SA award.
Altovise walk away with a cash prize of R100 000 and a contract with African talent specialists Restless Talent Management, in a bid to fast track the talented actress’ career to greater heights.
Altovise also won a well-deserved weekend for two getaway at Sun City (Palace of the Lost City).
Altovise, a Dramatic Arts graduate from the University of the Witwatersrand (WITS), was a hot contender from day one, acing her acting techniques in every imaginable genre to scoop the coveted award.
“I couldn’t believe that I made it to the top three in the competition as I was one of the youngest contestants and only recently finished my post graduate studies. I am ecstatic and will definitely keep the skills that I gained from the series of the competition to improve my acting abilities”, said Altovise.
“I think that this is a great platform for any hopeful actor wanting to launch their career as it’s not every day that you get to meet some of South Africa’s top actors as well as some big names from Hollywood – this is definitely what dreams are made of.”
