Silvermist Wine Estate has welcomed La Colombe following the sale of the Constantia Uitsig farm where the restaurant used to operate.
The new La Colombe is situated high up on the slopes of Table Mountain with picture-perfect valley views over the picturesque Oranjekloof. The interiors are relaxed, with muted tones and an edge of sophistication.
From its original home at Constantia Uitsig Wine Estate with it’s beloved French chef, Franck Dangereux, La Colombe has grown slowly and meticulously through the delicate hands of award-winning Chef Luke Dale-Roberts and now, the extraordinarily talented Scot Kirton, and his team.
The menu is reflective of Scot’s flair for innovation, flavour and exquisite plating skills. La Colombe’s French signature remains, but with a modern, fresh approach. Scot creates food for the most discerning ‘foodies’ in search of a quality all-round dining experience, filled with imagination and faultless technique.
His style is a seamless integration of classic and modern French cuisine, with a distinctive Asian influence. Each dish is refined to deliver the full potential from the finest ingredients, all in beautiful balance.
Menu favourites include ‘Tinned Tuna’ – a quirky take on the fresh tuna; ‘Scallop & Pork’ – seared scallop, Asian barbeque pork, kimchi, corn purée, lemongrass and ginger velouté, aubergine, crackling and ‘Grass-fed Dry Aged Beef’ – grass-fed aged beef, smoked pomme purée, carrot and turnip purée, turnip marmalade and black pepper café au lait.
