The Ford Focus is a splendid drive and delivers an addictive driving experience that’s built around you. It all begins with the four-cylinder turbocharged engine that is as powerful as it is fuel-efficient, so you can focus on the drive and make fewer stops.
Nonetheless, I must say that competition in the mid-sized sedan range is extreme. There are a number of variations to pick from in the segment including Mazda3, Toyota Corolla, VW Jetta, Honda Civic, Opel Astra, Alfa Romeo Giulietta and Hyundai Elantra. But I was impressed with the Ford Focus.
What I like most about the car is its dynamic power, terrific fuel consumption and reasonable spec levels coupled with a winning price tag. The Focus can be underrated but it has a reputation of being reliable and great fun to drive.
On the outside, the Ford Focus sedan has been reinvigorated with an athletically styled exterior. The boldly transformed front-end design, sharp detailing and new front grille make the Focus a distinctive presence wherever it goes.
The Bi-xenon headlamps are so intelligent that they detect different road conditions and selects the appropriate beam pattern for enhanced illumination. To help the driver see more in tight bends, the static cornering headlamp feature illuminates the inside of a corner when you turn the steering wheel into the direction of turn.
The interior has been crafted for comfort, with a clean, modern, intuitive controls and improved cabin quietness. The integrated centre console features a USB port, a 12-volt power socket and adjustable cupholders for improved storage capacity and greater convenience. With the Ford SYNC voice control, you can control your music as well as make and take calls on your mobile, using simple, direct voice commands.
For an added convenience, the car also features a rear-view camera that automatically turns on when you reverse, helping you to see behind objects while the beep of the rear parking sensors tell how close you are. The system also displays a guidance graphic in the navigation.
