Shell customers have walked away with five BMW cars last Friday after a nationwide two-month competition. The handover took place in Bryanston, Johannesburg.
The competition ran from December 7, 2015 until 17 January 2016. Customers were required to sms ‘BMW’ followed by their name to the number provided and follow the instructions to enter the competition.
The winners, who came from Johannesburg, Polokwane, Springs and Rustenburg, were notified telephonically of their success.
One of the winners, Nabeel Omar, was stunned when he found out that he had won; ironically, his mother had been motivating him for months to get himself a BMW which prompted him to enter the competition at his nearest Shell service station in Sunninghill, Johannesburg.
A regular visitor to the Shell Ultra City in Polokwane, Daniel Ramabula entered in response to an advert at the service station. “I thought it was a scam. I did some research and saw it on the Shell South Africa website. When I found it was legit, I went ahead and entered. So when I received the call that I had won I couldn’t believe it because I was very sceptical of entering”, he said.
