Located in the BluBird Shopping Centre, Bistro Michel has added a Plat du Jour option to its lunch-time menu, available from Tuesdays to Fridays.
Customers can expect typical French bistro dishes such as Chicken Cordon Bleu served with mushroom sauce and sautéed baby marrow Provencal, fish and chips served with tartare sauce
Shepherd’s Pie (a recreation of the one served at Michel’s previous establishment the legendary Gatrile’s) served with sautéed beans and traditional Parisian beef tartare with frites and a side salad are also on the offer.
According to Michel Morand, owner and chef at Bistro Michel, France is famous for its Plat du Jour which offers diners good food that is reasonably priced.
“I realised that there are a lot of working people in the area who only have an hour or less for lunch and want to have something quick but tasty to eat as well as affordably priced, so I’ve added both a Plat du Jour as well as a small range of gourmet hamburgers to our regular menu.”
Last year the restaurant added a popular gourmet burger option which also remains on the lunchtime menu. Options include classic beef, chicken Hawaiian, Karoo lamb and vegetarian.
While Bistro Michel has established itself as a firm favourite evening dining venue, the team is keen to welcome a more casual lunchtime trade who want a quick bite before rushing back to work or that next appointment.
