Sandton Square’s Auto & General Theatre on the Square and Tony Yoko will be hosting the fourth annual Jazz and Blues Weekend from 29 – 31 January.
Themed “The Blues and Beyond”, the first night of the weekend will see a high energy music laced with anecdotes and stories with performances from guitarist and vocalist Mike Rowe, Dobro guitarist Wayne Coughlan, Gerald Louw electric bass and drummer Terry Hunt.
The second night of the weekend will sail up the Mississippi with swinging stops in Memphis, Kansas City and Chicago including some side trips to New York and other interesting places. Themed “Red Hot and The Blues”, the show will feature the inimitable U.S. entertainer and multi-instrumentalist Michael Canfield.
Guitarist Alistair Coakley, bassist Cesare Cassarino, saxophonist Thomas Dancer, pianist Bobby Pashovski and the passionate voice of Nicole Theron will also perform.
The last night of the weekend will be themed “A Jazz Showcase” and will feature Hannah Foster and Andrew Massey who will perform a variety of swinging jazz standards and ‘duets’ from the American Song Book.

and the outstanding U.K. Jazz trumpeter Bob Wade will also do what they do best on the stage.
