PGA of SA has introduced a new format for the 2016 World Club ProAm challenge, aiming to encourage universal networking opportunities for golfers. The challenge will take place in KwaZulu-Natal from 27 February to 5 March 2016.
The amateurs will now play 4 rounds of team golf with an optional 5th round for the World Club Pro Am Individual Amateur title.
The team event will consist of three rounds of combined Betterball Stableford and a single round of Fourball Alliance Stableford with 2 scores to count.
The PGA Professional will partner with a different amateur partner each day thereby pairing with 2 other amateurs giving players the opportunity to network with golfers from other teams.
The Amateurs have the option of either competing in the separate Individual Cup event on day five or they can opt to rest and support their PGA Professional on the final day of the Professional Championship.
The 90-hole format that is unique to the World Club ProAm will remain for the PGA Professional, but The PGA Professionals will be drawn together in a seeded final round in the Individual Stableford Professional Championship where the winner will claim the US$33 000 prize fund and Individual title.
