Mzansi’s distributor of luxury Maserati vehicles, European Automotive Imports – South Africa (EAI-SA), showcased the Maserati range in style at a glamorous event. The event took place at the Maserati dealership in Bryanston, Johannesburg this week.
The dealership was transformed into what can only be described as a theatre of fashion, which reflected the Italian flair, design and lifestyle that is synonymous with Maserati.
The theme for the evening was ‘Wild meets Beautiful’ – a coming together of high performance vehicles and the best of the South African fashion attended by the who is who of South African society.
A screening of the 101-year history movie of the luxury Italian motor vehicle brand reminded all present of the heritage of Maserati.
What followed was a breath-taking display of cars and fashion. One by one the stunning Maserati’s drove onto the runway accompanied by the unique fashions of four of South Africa’s top designers.
The new Maserati GranTurismo made a dramatic entrance onto the runway accompanied by the designs of Marianne Fassler, followed by the GranCabrio alongside Loincloth & Ashes.
The flagship of the range, the Quattroporte, made its entrance in the company of Fabiani and by now the stage was set for the introduction of the long awaited Ghibli.
Named after the warm desert winds that blow towards the Mediterranean Sea in Libya, the Ghibli has found its way to South African shores and undoubtedly stole the show on the night.
Entering the arena very slowly, accompanied by the rhythmic and dramatic beat of drums, the deep blue Ghibli was led in by top fashion model Lalla Hirayama, driven by internationally renowned, South African fashion designer, David Tlale.
The unmistakable sound of the Maserati engine filled the room and the crowd erupted into applause and cheers as Tlale exited the car.
Luca Delfino, Sales Director for Maserati Middle East, India & Africa, Maserati and Brad Graaff for EAI-SA were the hosts of the evening. Guests celebrated until late, while enjoying Italian and South African cuisine.
