Tsogo Sun’s executive chefs, Shaun Bruce of SunSquare Cape Town and Henrico Grobbelaar of Southern Sun Waterfront, have been shortlisted in the Senior Chef of the Year category of the Unilever Food Solutions Chef of the Year 2015.
The awards ceremony is scheduled for 20 September 2015 in Durban.
Other finalists include Shaun Munro (Southern Sun Elangeni & Maharani executive chef), Clinton Bonhomme (Southern Sun Elangeni & Maharani executive sous chef), Prenolan Naidoo (Grill Jichana executive sous chef) and Justin Sewpershad (Southern Sun Elangeni & Maharani bar manager) in the “Team of Four – Bring Your Best” category.
The finalists were selected after submitting recipes for a starter, main course and dessert and then taking part in an exciting mystery box cook-off in their regions. The competition finals on 10 September are set to be a hotly contested affair with a World Association of Chefs’ Societies-accredited judge overseeing the judging procedure.
