J Something, one of the Mi Casa group members shared Brandy Moments at a dinner paired with brandy prepared by Mr. J himself.
Upon arrival at the exquisite Smeg Showroom in Bryanston, guests were treated to an Oude Meester Demant Franklin cocktail to liven the palate for what was to become a superb three-course dinner.
The ambiance was fixed by stunning decor and soft lighting with whispers of expectation.
First up was the exquisite goat cheese parcel with fig preserve entrée, served with Richelieu 10 year old.
Then came the main course – a Carne Assada da Avo, beef fillet slow cooked in onions with vinegar and chilli served with spaghetti.
This scrumptious meal was served with Klipdrift Gold and was a golden match to remember. The dessert was a guilt-free chocolate torte with ice-cream and homemade brandy hot chocolate. This indulgent delight was served with Van Ryn’s 20 year old, and, of course, Micasa sounds in the background to signal a successful dinner.
All meals were inspired by significant moments in J-Something’s life. “I have created dishes that are unpretentious, comforting, and warm up our bellies and our hearts; food I enjoy eating and the kind of food I would make for those I love,” said J’Something.
The brandy assortment also completed the food ideally. For instance, the 10 year old Richelieu was a great choice with its warm and friendly spirit of contemporary France.
The Klipdrift Gold is known for its unique South African generosity and hospitality, so pairing it with a generous helping of tender steak was a comforting sensory experience.
“We use imported French oak barrels to preserve our brandies to ensure that they mature with the finest quality,” said Distell Brandy Ambassador Nick Holdcroft.
